We were, and still are, blown away by Tulsa hospitality. When we arrived in town we were greeted by such a pretty city skyline. Visit Tulsa greeted us with the most beautiful and delicious gift basket. Popcorn, gummy worms and snacks of all kinds thrilled our boys - all made by Tulsa locals of course (You HAVE to try the Golden Driller popcorn, it's the perfect combination of sweet and salty!).
The Hyatt Regency Tulsa went above and beyond hosting us. You guys. We were in a Penthouse Suite. On the top floor. As in, you needed a key to even access our floor. Our boys thought we were staying in a palace. It was a pretty accurate description! It's likely our room(s) had more square footage than our house. The boys have talked about it ever since we went. A sweet lady named Vanessa with Visit Tulsa even met us for breakfast the next morning where she shared so many amazing things to go see and do....we knew we would be coming back multiple times!
After such a great greeting and start to the day we were excited to see what The Tulsa Zoo had to offer. We originally planned to hit up The Gathering Place first, but with the heat and Saturday morning crowds, we headed for the zoo and planned to hit up the park later in the evening.
The Tulsa Zoo is an animal lover's paradise...so our boys, especially Hudson, loved exploring to see what we could find. He quickly pointed out some of the animals we don't get to visit on a regular basis at home. For example, a Komodo dragon and sea lions. The sea lions were a fast favorite and another thing we saw that the boys haven't stopped talking about. If you go to the Tulsa Zoo, you MUST see the sea lion show. It's very informative and entertaining - so much so that it held the attention of our 4 and 2 year olds. That's impressive, friends.
The zoo was also great about allowing coolers. This let us bring our own lunch and let us save our money for fun souvenir cups and toys to bring home and remember our visit. You can enjoy train rides and a carousel...but just know that there's so much to see and do we didn't even make it to either of those fun options!
We really enjoyed a great day! Check out our video from the morning and see why, even with so many fun and exciting things to see and do....it's sometimes best to pace yourself.
